- first we read our job sheet so that we new what we were doing.
- then we carried out a risk assessment on our colleagues to determend whether they were capable of performing the task or if they needed any help or assistance.
- we then done a risk assessment on our task to see whether there are any hazardest material that we were using. we also used it to find the best possible way of performing the task.
- then we checked the delivery ticket to make shore that we Had the right materials and the right quantity of them.
- we then made any necessary changes to the delivery ticket
- we then checked our access rout and made shore that there were no obstructions such as roads, closed door or stairs.
- we then made sure that we had the right p.p.e. The p.p.e we used was gloves, goggles and boots. we wore the gloves to protect our hand from the stones and the sand. we wore goggles to protect our eyes from the small stones and sand from the ballast and also because it is stored out side you don't know what could be in it.we wore boot because we are lifting heavy bag of ballast and if dropped it could brake your toe or injure it.
- we then started to perform the task. we were shoveling it into the wheelbarrow and then moving it to another place and then unloading it. Once we moved it all we then had to put it all back.
- once we moved it all back we then cleaned and tidyed the work area.
- finally we reported back to the boss the job were done.
