one of the common defects is that sometimes the gutter union is missing (perished) the rubber seals. With out the rubber seals the gutter union will leak.

another common defects is if the guttering is split than it will leak to. in a resault of this you will have to repce the broken gutter.

risk assessment

The is a risk of tripping over spare material so to prevent this we hall bin all non reusable material and store away any re-usable materials.

There is a risk of slipping if any water go's one the floor while testing the to reduce this risk we shall mop up any water that spill and make sure that the public is aware that there may be a risk.

There is a may be a risk if working at height ( up a ladder). to reduce this risk you can only work up a ladder at 10 min at a time.

method statment

The first thing we have to do is to view the property and determent how much work is needed and the amount of time it will take. The next thing we will have to do is to get all the required materials and tools. We then will send a quote and if the client is happy we will then proceed with the work. The first thing we done was to get rid of broken existing gutter. we then measured the lenth of where the gutter had to go and marked the correct fall for the gutter. we then attached a string so we could make sure the gutter had a consistant fall. we then attached the bracket to hold the gutter in place. after we attached the first lenght we then attached the seccond part useing the same method of flowing the string and attaching the brackets. once we got to where the gutter had to finish we then attached a swan neck to the final part and a pipe to the swan neck and at the bottom of the pipe we attached a pipe shoe so that the water could drain away. after we made sure that evey thing is sucure we then tested it making sure there is no leakes or build of any water in side the gutter. finally we cleaned up making sure our wirk area is tidy and any non rerusable materials have been diposed of.
